Northbridge is grand-scale Lower North Shore: substantial federation and interwar homes on sandstone foundations, generous verandahs, and gardens that fall away toward Sailors Bay. One bridge from my Castlecrag base, it's been part of my patch since the beginning.

Houses of this era and scale ask for proportionate work — verandah posts and balustrades replicated at the right weight, pergolas sized to the house rather than the catalogue, and outdoor structures engineered for slopes that get serious the closer you get to the water.
